The late afternoon sun hitting the blanket of freshly fallen snow. Snow crunching under the snowshoes. Solitude or isolation, the red barn sites far away from the town, among the open windswept fields, far in the distance.
Red Barns in Winter was painted in the studio after a solo snowshoe hike in December2016 on 9 x 12 sheet of 140lb (300g/m2) Strathmore Watercolour Paper.
